The man with great and enthusiasm, the man with Great vision and mission, the man with chastity and charity, the man with love and affection to the poor and the downtrodden: In brief the man with Godly Qualities-He is none other than our Chairman Dr.S.Cletus Babu, a great Philanthropist and Social Worker. Born in the year 1952, October 12th in a remote village in Kanayakumari District, Tamilnadu, He gave way to his inner feeling of serving the poorest among the poor. He rightly chose the area of education and stated Engineering, Polytechnic College, Industrial Training Centers, College of Education, Teacher Training Institute, Community College, Matriculation Schools and Special Schools for the Physically Handicapped and Mentally Challenged child etc.. for the uplift of the rural community.
He also chose to run Schools for the Gypsies, Schools for the Saltpan workers, Homes for the Aged, Homes for the Leprosy affected people etc. He has to his credit 2500 self help groups with a network of 50000 womenfolk working together for the development of the Community, thus fulfilling the motto of the founders viz SCAD – Social Change And Development. He is ably assisted by his life partner Dr.J.X.Amali Cletus Babu a real mother with motherly attitude towards all the members of the Institutions and the Community as a whole. The great couple of this millennium, blessed by God Almighty, is born to serve, serve and serve the Community without any rest
The Teacher Training Institute was founded in December 2005 by Dr.S.Cletus Babu, inspired by Dr.J.X.Amali Cletus Babu with the proper recognition of Central and State Governments. Being a dedicated educationist and socialist he started this institution with a healthy campus environment, modern amenities, latest infrastructure and well qualified and well experienced faculty with a view to providing quality teacher education.

It is recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bangalore . Recognition No:F.SRO/NCTE/D.Ed/2005-2006/ 4585 dt 09.12.2005 & F.SRO/NCTE/ D.TEd-AI/2006 – 2007/ 17856 dt 11.02.2008.
It is affiliated to the Directorate of Teacher Education Research and Training (DTERT), Chennai. (It offers a two year Diploma in Teacher Education course).
